The library has reopened to all users as of February 28. Masks are currently optional in the ULS Libraries
In order to protect the staff and community, both ULS Library branches were closed completely from March 19, 2020 through August 9, 2021 and again from January 1 to February 27. The Library and ULS’s Emergency Planning and Operations Task Force will continue to assess current conditions. Please see the library calendar for day to day hours. After hours access to the Wentz Library will remain off. In order to greater assist the community during this period, the library will be instituting a number of policies and practices. This information will be available on the Library website here.
In order to greater assist students during this period, the ULS Library is offering an easily-bookable online schedule for 1-hour reference sessions with the Library Director (36 hour notice required). In order to book one of these, please visit this website:
Quick reference requests can always be made via email to library@uls.edu (quick reference is easily-answered questions, not in-depth research assistance).
Many libraries have already turned off their interlibrary loan delivery of print material. We will do our best to get students, faculty, and staff scans of chapters or articles not available elsewhere. Please use this form to make ILL requests or make them directly inside of WorldCat Discovery (All Content) .
The library has now resumed offering books and article scans to all current students, staff, and faculty. The normal requirement that you live more than 25 miles from campus has been waived. Please place a "hold" in the book catalog and let us know how you'd like it delivered or email us at library@uls.edu
Because the library’s course reserves are intended to be available at students’ convenience rather than as a replacement for students’ purchase of learning materials. Due to the current health pandemic and results from OCLC's REALM project, the library will not be holding books on course reserve during the 2020-2021 Academic Year.
The Writing Center will continue to be available to students via phone, email, and Zoom video conference. Check the Writing Center home page for more information. Check the library calendar for hours of online drop-in sessions.
