Holding a number of primary source collections in print for Lutherans in the United States is only a small piece of the resources available to our students. The Library has acquired electronic access to a number of 19th century primary source newspapers and magazines through Accessible Archives and through the American Antiquarian Society Periodicals, 1684-1912 collections. These resources provide a wealth of first-hand accounts in the 19th century, on issues such as Women's Suffrage, Slavery, Abolition, and the Civil War. In addition, a variety of magazines focused on domestic life, are included, as well! Take a look at the tabs above to learn more about how to access and what's included in these resources.
We recommend that you purchase the 7th edition (or newer) of A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations (Turabian) at the beginning of your studies at ULS so that you can refer to it every time you are completing a research paper.
If you need to cite something more complex, you can also refer to Chicago Manual of Style Online , as Turabian is a simplified version of Chicago.
